Best Times To Visit

The event is generally less busy on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, or on Saturdays and Sundays after 7pm.

Our ice skating rink is usually wide open during our day skate sessions!

New Additions

Yes! We have added more light displays to the event and we are now at one million lights! We have also increased the size of the ice skating rink, and adding more vendors and additional food options, including street tacos and pizza. On December 2nd there is a ticketed concert event, Holidays with The Trail Band will perform Christmas songs from 4pm to 6:15pm. Admission to the concert gets you access to Christmas in the Garden.


Yes, we highly encourage purchasing online in advance. Ticket prices increase by $3 at the door, and some nights may sell out. Tickets are available online until 4pm that day. Purchase your tickets and learn more here.

Yes, Resort guests receive free admission to Christmas in the Garden. Each person over 10 years old on the reservation will receive a ticket. Book your stay at the Oregon Garden Resort here or by calling 503-874-2500. If you booked through a 3rd party (Expedia,, etc.) or received a AAA discount, you must purchase Christmas in the Garden admission separately.


Yes, parking will be $5 on-site, whether you are parking at The Oregon Garden or the Oregon Garden Resort. Pre-purchase parking online here.We will begin charging for parking at 3pm on the following dates: Wednesdays – Sundays, Nov. 23 – Dec. 16, daily Dec. 17 – 23 and daily Dec. 26 – Dec. 31. Parking off-site and using one of our shuttles will be free.

New this year, you may drop off people at the bottom of the driveway! From there, you can hop right on the shuttle to the event, making it even easier for guests to drop off teenagers, grandparents, strollers, etc.
Yes, there is ADA parking on-site, however the parking is limited. We do our best to accommodate everyone; please plan to arrive early and communicate with parking attendants if you need an ADA space.
For safety reasons, we ask that guests do not walk up our driveway. You will need to park on-site for $5 or park at one of our off-site lots and take a shuttle to the admissions point located at the Oregon Garden Resort.

Garden Accessibility

Much of the Garden is not lit during the event, so for your safety we ask that you remain on lit pathways.
Yes, Garden admission is separate from Christmas in the Garden. If you do visit the Garden during the day and want to attend the event as well, we ask you to please exit the Garden at 4pm and return at 5pm when our event begins. Tickets will be available at-the-door or can be pre-purchased online here.
Yes, however, some pathways are gravel and chip and may be difficult to push strollers and wheelchairs on.


Santa will be at Christmas in the Garden every night of the event from around 5:30pm-8:30pm. This schedule is subject to change, and any changes will be posted to our website and Facebook page.
Photos with Santa are a fundraiser for the Oregon Garden Foundation and there is a suggested donation of $2. You can use your own camera to capture Santa photos; we will not have a professional photographer.

Ice Skating

There are no age or disability restrictions for the ice rink. It is up to the individual to determine if it is safe for them to be skating. All ice skaters will be required to sign a waiver before entering the rink. There are bobby rentals (seals that young kids can ride on or push for stability) and double-bladed skates that go on over toddler’s shoes. Kids must be wearing skates to ride a bobby.
Yes you’re welcome to bring your own skates! You’ll also save $5.
Once you have paid for ice skating, you may come and go as much as you would like.


Yes. We will have food and drinks available for purchase throughout the event. Foods will include: fondue with pretzels and sausage; soft pretzels with fondue; sausage with sauerkraut; hot dogs; pizza; street tacos and tamales. Drinks will include hot cocoa, peppermint hot cocoa, spiced cider, gluhwein (mulled, spiced wine), beer and spirits. View our food & beverage menu here.
Yes. We will have multiple covered seating areas – one in the ice skating rink tent and two in the Rediscovery Forest. In addition, we will have Stop & Stands located throughout the forest – covered areas with tables, where people can stand and gather. We will also have Christmas Cabanas, which are covered tents with three walls, where guests can gather, sit and watch the event. We will have the Biergarten, featuring an indoor area for food, beverages and entertainment on weekends and daily Dec 17 – Dec 23.


In the case of high winds and dangerous conditions, we may have to close Christmas in the Garden for an evening or shorten our hours for the safety of our guests and staff. We will post any changes to our website and Facebook page and send an email and issue refunds to those who pre-purchased their tickets. We will make the call by 2pm that day.


We do highly recommend dressing in layers for the weather. We will also have heaters and fire pits located throughout the event, where you can stop and warm up.
Yes, leashed dogs are always welcome at outdoor events in the Garden. However, they are not allowed in the ice skating tent or Biergarten.
