Along with very strict safety measures, our light display is limited to hotel guests only, to ensure we are following all 2-week freeze COVID-19 guidelines. We have been working closely with Marion County health officials, and are happy to share that with all the precautions we have in place, we can still offer the light display to hotel guests staying on our special Christmas rate.

Booking an overnight stay is the best way to ensure that you will be able to enjoy Lights at the Oregon Garden Resort!


We have postponed Christmas in the Garden until 2021 due to COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines required by the State of Oregon, to ensure guest safety. However, we will host a smaller, more intimate light display, called Lights at the Oregon Garden Resort in 2020.

Under the current COVID-19 guidelines, we are not allowed to have more than 250 people viewing the lights at a time, including vendors and employees. The smaller footprint of this new display makes it feasible with this limited guest capacity.

Lights at the Oregon Garden Resort will be a new light experience, placed around the Main Lodge of the Oregon Garden Resort, instead of in The Oregon Garden. Guests will still enjoy many of their favorite displays from Christmas in the Garden, along with festive food and drink, live holiday music and some vendor booths.

For guest safety, Lights at the Oregon Garden Resort will not offer ice skating or snowless tubing.

We are only able to welcome guests of the Resort this year (both hotel guests on our special Christmas rate and those with reservations to our special Christmas Dinner experiences).

Due to the number of people allowed due to the COVID-19 restrictions, and because we anticipate selling out at the Oregon Garden Resort, we are currently only able to offer this experience to guests.

Tickets will not be sold to the general public, we’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and we look forward to welcoming everyone back in 2021.

Because only 250 people can be in the light display area at a time due to COVID-19 restrictions, we will break the evening up into sessions. This will allow us to safely share the magic of Christmas with more than 250 people in one evening. Between the sessions, our staff will thoroughly clean and sanitize surfaces to ensure everyone’s safety.

To obtain a session time, you will need to have a hotel reservation or a reservation to one of our special Christmas Dinner experiences. As we get closer to the event, we will contact each guest directly to choose a session time.

Overnight stays must be booked directly through the hotel, either online or by calling 800-966-6490, not a third party site. Guests must be booked on the Lights at the Oregon Garden Resort rate to receive access to the lights.

Anyone who previously booked a Christmas in the Garden overnight package has been moved to a Lights at the Oregon Garden Resort rate. If you have an existing reservation, but do not know if you are booked on the Lights rate, please call to confirm: 800-966-6490.





No, this is a cashless event due to COVID-19 and minimizing interactions. Please bring a debit or credit card for all food, drink and vendor purchases.

There will not be lights placed inside The Oregon Garden this year.

Guests at the Oregon Garden Resort will enjoy a beautiful path decorated with engaging light displays starting at the Resort’s main lodge, winding along paths around the building, through the Wedding Garden and beyond. The display will include many of the lights you have come to love at Christmas in the Garden.

We take your health and safety, and that of our staff, seriously – it will be our first priority during this light display. (Followed closely by providing you with an amazing holiday experience to help take your mind off this difficult time.) We are following all state and county COVID-19 safety guidelines, and working closely with our health department officials to ensure we provide the safest environment possible.

Our light path will be one-way, guests will be required to wear a face mask, we will have social distance monitors to enforce spacing, we have limited the number of guests who are onsite at one time, we will be actively sanitizing throughout the evening and more.

We will continue to keep up on all COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions, and will alter our plans accordingly if any changes occur.

Yes, well-behaved pets on a leash are welcome to tour the light display with you. Just make sure to book a pet-friendly hotel room for your stay.


Unfortunately, no. For guests safety we will not have the ice skating rink or snowless tubing track this year.

Yes, we will have a handful of vendors selling handmade, locally-crafted items and hope you will come support them this holiday season.

You’re in luck! We will have some delicious holiday favorites – including our signature Gluhwein (warm, mulled wine, popular in Germany). We will also have local beer, hot cocoa (with spirits optional for adults), water, soda and more!

We have a few different options for you! We will have traditional German foods at the display, and highly recommend this option for the full experience. There will be covered seating where you can enjoy live music and a great meal. This is an ideal meal option for larger groups and families with small children, as it is the most relaxed.
